Il luogo non è la casa di Porta Romana a Milano, né un palcoscenico italiano o internazionale, ma la sala riunioni della Libera Università di Alcatraz, situata nella campagna tra Gubbio e Perugia. Il pubblico è formato dai partecipanti al seminario “La voce narrante”, tenuto da Stefano Benni e Umberto Petrin. Ad un certo punto della serata arrivano due anziani coniugi, la donna al braccio del figlio e si siedono tra il pubblico. L’uomo è alto, appesantito dall’età e un po’ curvo, ma i suoi occhi sono vivissimi e saettanti; la donna è fragile, ha il passo incerto, ma la sua bellezza, solo sfiorata dal tempo, persiste dentro un abito luminoso; gli occhi sono protetti da grandi lenti scure e il sorriso che rivolge ai vicini di posto è affascinante. Un affettuoso applauso commenta il loro arrivo. Su invito di Stefano Benni l’uomo si siede su una sedia al centro della sala e comincia a fabulare di contadini, donne e mucche con un suo personale linguaggio, alla fine invita la donna ad avvicendarsi, ma lei è incerta (pare non sia stata bene il giorno prima), dice che non se la sente; il marito e il figlio la sollecitano affettuosamente, tutti i presenti gridano ritmicamente il suo nome e alla fine prende posto sulla stessa sedia del marito e appena questo accade si trasforma magicamente e recita uno dei suoi cavalli, non a caso, di battaglia sull’orgasmo femminile simulato. Scompare la fragilità, l’incertezza, la debolezza fisica, l’avanzare dell’età; la donna e l’attrice fin dalla nascita si danno il cambio davanti al pubblico e proclamano con dignità e fermezza grandi verità, mettono il mestiere al servizio delle idee, commuovono e indignano. Questo accadeva tre anni fa e ora che Franca Rame è morta e ha lasciato quella sedia vuota per sempre e Dario Fo non potrà più chiederle di recitare con, dopo, prima di lui, io penso a quanto mancheranno alle donne e agli uomini del nostro paese la sua voce inconfondibile, la profondità delle sue convinzioni, le sue lotte civili e la bellezza del suo passaggio nelle nostre vite.
